We want to add 2 predecessors relationships to the new level of effort activity SUMMARY
To work faster, arrange the activities so that you can link them directly with right click FS
I regroup without the last lvl of WBS
Next I arrange in the order I need to link them and use link activities option
I use filter to show only the activities to be linked
Change to any of the following
Link activities
Now we do the filter for the the other predecessor
We do the links
Now we need to change the predecessors link from FS to SS and FF IT will take ages to do it manually for each task so we can use Excel export import
We open the excel and we use filter
We filter by predecessor
Than we filter for the successor
Now we can change all links to SS as needed
We can see it is ok for the taska already done manually
We do the same for the rest
We continue for the full list
We filter fot the others and use FF link type
We save the excel
We do the import.
Relationships were doubled so we need to use a copy if the project before the actiivties were created or to do a new exportimport to delete the fs created links
We type ‘’d’’ in the delete column for the FS relationships that were kept in the planning
We do it for all fs relatonships that we need to be deleted
We do the same for the rest of links FS with the other tasks
BE carefull when using the d letter to use it only for the FS relationships, sometimes excel is tricky and the fill down is done for the hidden rows!
Save the excel file and redo the import
It worked perfectly and saved a lot of time 🙂
We do a F9 Schedule to see the result
